Last Saturday afternoon, we shared a precious time of practice at the monastery — cultivating calm, peace, and wisdom through simple acts of mindful care, carried out together as a community.
Our first small team who participated in the monastery cleaning offered a beautiful example of how everyday activities, when approached with awareness and kindness, can become a genuine practice of the Dhamma. Their experiences stand as gentle encouragement to fellow students who aspire to nurture peace and wisdom amidst the many demands and distractions of daily life.
“Cleaning the monastery felt relaxing and calm.”— Vithun Weerasuriya
“Helping clean the monastery was very therapeutic, and I feel blessed to be able to contribute to such a meritorious deed.”— Kavya Weerasuriya
“Despite being rather unsuccessful in making the rack by myself, it brought a special kind of peace—one that comes from patiently working through difficulties. The other task I did also gave me a deep sense of tranquillity.”— Nethun Weerasuriya
“It was really nice to work together as a group to help clean the monastery, and it was truly enjoyable.”— Hiruki Anthony
These reflections remind us that mindfulness is not limited to the meditation cushion— it can be found in sweeping a floor, solving a problem, or working together in harmony. Through such actions, we nurture both the space around us and the qualities within us.
With deep gratitude to those who participated, we wish them continued good health, happiness, and strength in their practice — today and always.
Thank you! 🙏
