About the event
The Poson Poya Day stands for a paramount festival in the Buddhist calendar of Ceylon - as it remarks the arrival of Theravāda Buddhism in Sri Lanka during the third century BCE. In 236 BCE of Anurādhapura Dynasty, the Saint (Arahat) Mahā-Mahinda Thero with his noble retinue, from India, came to Ceylon at Mihintale; he introduced Buddhism to the Monarch Devānaṃpiyatissa, and established its vast doctrine and rich culture that has been echoing down the ages of Ceylon thus far.
To reflect upon this historical moment of Buddhism in Central Asia, you are warmly invited to join us for a mindful celebration of the Poson Day 2024!
P.S. Our sessions are entirely free out of loving-kindness and compassion!
