About the event
The Vesak Full-moon Poya Day has been present in a significant place in the Buddhist calendar since ancient times. It holistically commemorates the birth of Prince Siddhārtha Gotama, his attainment as the ‘Buddha’ (The Awakened One), and the passing away of Gotama Buddha. While largely meditating upon these three noble events, we would express our devotion and gratitude to our supreme teacher from whom we are inherited such worthwhile teachings - to come to an end of this long-lasting existence (Saṃsāra).
To show our gratitude to the Lord Buddha, we will be performing the following on the event day:
4: 30pm - A Dhamma reflection on the Vesak Day
4: 45pm - A guided meditation session
5: 15pm - A special guest speech on the theme of mindfulness practice on the Buddha Day
5: 35pm - A short discussion
